Orchard Field

A development of 88 sustainable new homes near Cirencester that harness cutting edge energy-saving technology.

Enabling works entailed the relocation of newts, forming new ponds and habitats to receive them on land adjacent and also lowering and diverting 33kV electric cables.

Our package comprises S278 works to form new entrance, a 400m long access road winding through Orchard Field that will be sympathetically planted and landscaped in the coming months.

All substructures and associated hard landscaping will be completed with all material arising from excavation remaining on site. This scheme also required an extensive network of attenuation basins to manage the rate of offsite discharge of stormwater. The foul water drainage is collected in a 6m deep pump station and pumped off site across the adjacent highway to join the mains network.

We also liaised closely with Wales and West to manage several interfaces/crossings with both medium and high pressure gas mains of up to 1m in diameter.
